ICC Congratulates Uba Dorathy Mbasen on Her Election Victory at NAWOJ

The Executive and entire family of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel (ICC) have extended heartfelt congratulations to Comrade Uba Dorathy Mbasen and the Comrade Sonia Unobunjo–led Executive on their resounding victory in the just-concluded Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) elections, where Comrade Mbasen emerged as Financial Secretary.

The Chapel described the victory as a reflection of the confidence, trust, and admiration of NAWOJ members who have recognized her commitment, leadership qualities, and readiness to serve.

In a statement jointly signed by Comrade Kenneth Orusi, Chairman of ICC, and Comrade Michael Odiah, Secretary of ICC, the Chapel said the emergence of Comrade Mbasen and her colleagues is a clear mandate to deliver purposeful leadership, promote inclusiveness, and uphold the ideals of progress and accountability.

“We are confident that under your stewardship, NAWOJ will witness renewed energy, innovative ideas, and a spirit of collaboration that will advance the collective goals of all members,” the statement read.

The ICC further urged Comrade Mbasen to remain steadfast, transparent, and people-focused in all her endeavors as a proud ambassador of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel.

The statement concluded with warm wishes for a fruitful and impactful tenure for Comrade Uba Dorathy Mbasen and the entire Sonia Unobunjo–led Executive.
