The Immediate Past Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Oil and Gas and a retired Public Servant with the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), Dr. Awele Nwabuokei on Friday 28th June, 2024, shook the entire Issele-uku community with his special vibes as he buried his mother in-law, Late Ezinne (Mrs.) Patricia Unoju Mordi of Ogbenti-Obi Quarters of Issele-uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the State.
Issele-uku was agog with the influx of persons from all walks of life to honour the Ogwashi-Uku born philanthropist who gave his mother in-law a befitting burial.
Dr. Nwabuokei, popularly known as "Ekwueme" of Ogwashi-Uku was instrumental to some of the unifying processes that brought lasting peace in Ogwashi-Uku through his leadership of the Ogwashi-Uku Cultural Organisation and the sponsorship of Ogwashi-Uku Annual Carnival at a time.
He was one man without a dull moment, and as a result of that, his friends from far and near came to Issele-Uku to attend the funeral service of his mother in-law as a mark of respect and honour to him as a rare personality.
Dr. Awele Nwabuokei was named and conferred with the prestigious Anioma Man of the Year in 2011 by Anioma Trust Newspapers as a result of his charitable nature, dedication to peace initiatives and passion in people's capacity development through which many have become millionaires and successful in life.
The people's person and highly achieved Awele Nwabuokei will be remembered for his show of love towards his 80 years old late mother in-law both in life and death; the benevolence which also was extended to members of his wife's family.
The reception which held at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, Issele-uku open field was a classic one, as guests, friends and well wishers of Chief Awele Nwabuokei were sumptuously entertained.
