A frontline aspirant for the Delta North Senatorial seat, Rex Biose, has congratulated Nigerian workers on the occasion of Labour Day, urging them to take a more active role in shaping the nation’s leadership.
In a statement issued in Lagos, Biose commended workers for their resilience and unwavering belief in Nigeria despite prevailing socio-economic challenges.
He noted that the Nigerian workforce has consistently demonstrated commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of the country, even in the face of policies and leadership approaches that have not always reflected their contributions or aspirations.
Biose emphasized the need for workers to strengthen their collective voice within the political space, stressing that increased participation in governance processes is vital to achieving meaningful and lasting change.
Describing himself as part of a new generation of political actors in Delta North, he stated that the time has come for citizens, particularly workers, to assert greater influence in leadership selection, with the aim of promoting credible governance, improved welfare, and respect for the rule of law.
He also recalled the historical role of the labour movement in shaping national discourse, urging workers to renew their commitment to democratic engagement and support processes that will produce leadership aligned with the aspirations and yearnings of the people.
