Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State over the conduct of Saturday’s presidential primary election, which produced Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the overwhelming winner.
Speaking after serving as the State Collation Officer for the exercise, Governor Fubara said President Tinubu secured all 280,082 votes cast in the primary election across the state’s 23 local government areas.
According to him, although the party had 297,068 registered members in the state, a total of 280,082 members were accredited and participated in the exercise, with all votes going to Tinubu, while his lone challenger, Stanley Osifo, recorded no vote.
Gov. Sim Fubara described the exercise as peaceful, seamless and one of the most organised outings of the party in recent times, attributing the success to effective planning by the party leadership.
Fubara said he was impressed with the conduct of the process and the orderly collation of results from across the state.
He added that after carefully reviewing the figures, he certified the results as accurate and representative of the outcome from the 23 local government areas of Rivers State.
