In his Easter message, Guwor emphasized the deep significance of the season, noting that it reflects Christ’s sacrificial love, death, and resurrection—an enduring symbol of hope and victory over despair.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Delta State Assembly Speaker urged Christians to embody the core values of Christ—love, humility, sacrifice, forgiveness, and faith as a pathway to building peaceful and just societies.
“Easter remains the cornerstone of the Christian faith, commemorating the sacrificial love and glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It reminds us that hope can rise from despair, light can overcome darkness, and life triumphs over death,” Guwor stated.
Acknowledging the challenges confronting Nigeria and the global community, he called for unity, resilience, and collective action in pursuit of peace, security, and prosperity.
“At this solemn yet joyous time, I urge all Christians to reflect deeply on Christ-like virtues. These values are essential not only for spiritual growth but for fostering peaceful, just, and united societies,” he added.
Guwor further stressed that no situation is beyond redemption, encouraging citizens to remain steadfast, support one another, and work together toward a better future.
“As leaders and citizens, let us embrace the spirit of renewal that Easter represents. Let us recommit to justice, equity, and service to humanity. Together, we can build stronger institutions and a more inclusive society,” he said.
Reaffirming the commitment of State Assemblies, Guwor assured that legislatures would continue to enact laws that promote good governance, social justice, and economic development, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
He concluded by extending warm Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and the world, urging unity beyond differences.
