2024: Governor Oborevwori Emerges Delta Man of the Year

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Saturday emerged the winner of the first edition of the Delta Man of the Year Award 2024.

The Executive Director of The Nehems/CAPOIN, Comrade Churchill, read and announced the results during a press briefing held at the Correspondents Chapel in Asaba.

The award, organized by, The NEHESMS a short form of Nehemiah while CAPOIN is Campaign for Public Office Integrity in Nigeria (The Nehems/CAPOIN),
a non-governmental organization, aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding leadership and governance in Delta State.

This award which reflects Gov Oborewvoris' ability to resonate with ordinary citizens, understanding their needs, aspirations, and challenges, gives credence to his street credibility mantra.

Governor Oborevwori polled a total of 359 votes to beat two other finalists, the Senator Representing Delta North, Prince Ned Nwoko, who scored 323 votes, and the Minister of Federal Government Security Surveillance Contract, High Chief Government Ekpemuokpolo, also known as Tompolo, who garnered 164 votes.

The voting process, which was conducted both online and offline, involved the three senatorial districts of the state, Delta Central, Delta North, and Delta South had voters fill out distributed forms for their preferred candidate.

This award is the latest recognition of Governor Oborevwori's exceptional leadership, following his recent "Governor of the Year, 2024" award from THISDAY Newspaper and ARISE Television.
