The President of the Organisation For the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC) - the culture umbrella body of Anioma Nation and Chief Executive Officer of the Contemporary Group Limited, Arc. Kester Ifeadi has said that the apex umbrella body of Anioma Culture has become a vanguard whose duty it is to fight for the protection of Anioma Identity in all aspects of it.
He made this assertion on Saturday 11th January, 2025, when he hosted Directors and Zonal Executive members of the Organisation in a meeting at his country home in Ubulu-Okiti, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta state. Notably, he said, 2024 was a year to remember in OFAAC.
"It was the year we lost key pillars of OFAAC like the Asagba Prof. Chike Edozien, Obi Martha Dunkwu as Patrons and as well as some Directors of the Organisation and some of our friends. We have never had a traditional ruler that identified with us like the late Asagba of Asaba. And of course, our mother the Omu Anioma; a quintessential figure and role model . There was no way we could have held the Anioma cultural festival when it was even the period we lost the Asagba and the Omu", he said.
He further affirmed that the year 2025 would yield enormous results in terms of deliverables in the areas of investing more of creativity into the foremost Anioma cultural festival, registration of more people into the micro credit scheme, health insurance and life insurance packages for members. He added that the Organisation had already received its life insurance benefits for dead members and would be disbursing at the meeting.
According to him, "In this year 2025, we are looking at more of the welfare of our people, because that is what OFAAC is about. As an umbrella body of Anioma Culture, it is our utmost duty to solve the issues of identity crisis bedevilling Anioma Nation. We are a people from different places, but we are distinct and unique because God has made us so.
"Like I said, Anioma is a blessed land, blessed people and productively intelligent people. The land of Anioma is about purity, honour, hospitality, peace and it is interesting to note that our people look forward to our festival annually, and OFAAC is the hope and bridge that connects our people in terms of culture. Anioma is a distinct identity, made up of people from different places and languages. Nobody can tell us who we are even though they are trying too hard to rewrite our history. We in OFAAC are the vanguard fighting for the protection of our identity. It's becoming more of a spiritual concern to us and we must strive to preserve that sacred mandate from our forebears.
"OFAAC is an Organisation that is into so many things for the welfare of our people in order to preserve our identity. We have even gotten the life insurance benefits for those of our members who are dead. And let me assure you that we must work together more than ever before, and everyone must actively participate at the highest level in this year's cultural festival. The 2025 festival will be done effortlessly to the glory of God", Ifeadi concluded.
