The Local government chairman, Oshimili South Local Government Area, High Chief Ezenyili Kelvin Obi PhD, has again, like a daily routine made News which appears to be Unusual at the local government level.
Hon Ezenyili popularly called EKO has today drawn from the highs and lows to Oko community for the commissioning of the ultra modern Oko Event Center EKO Project in Oko community, flag off of #50,000,000m empowerment programme for 500 persons where each beneficiary will be receiving a sum of #100,000 each, the distribution of 220 bags of rice to all the wards of the local government with each local government receiving 20 bags each.
EKO who stated that the desire to build this center was born out of a desire for community development, infrastructural development and developmental governance, noted that this center has brought succor to the people as what was far reached for them is now domiciled in their community and at a standard level
The local government chairman who doubles as the Ikemba of Asaba while welcoming Her Excellency, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, First lady of delta State noted that oko community hasn't had it this good over the years, regardless in their peace loving nature kept faith with the government, not relenting in their support for the government.
Ikemba Ahaba kingdom also stated that that the community is a food basket hence its people are predominantly framers and would be unwise for the community not to receive dividends of democracy and this would go a long way in curbing below average different forms of youths restiveness as it also promises to engage more youths.
Eko while thanking Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori also known as Mama Delta for the privilege to flag off the local governments empowerment programme hinted that "we have decided to carry out this program to give the great people of Oshimili South a sense of belonging by creating a window of opportunity through democratic dividends of inclusiveness."
Mama Delta in her remarks at the commissioning commended the Local governments Chairman saying "that for this singular act more will spring up in this area."
Deaconess Oborevwori the members of the community to ensure that they maintain this facility as it is theirs, she also urged all recipients to ensure to share with one another as they receive these gifts.

In response from the Oko People, the Onihe of Oko land performed the conferment and transformation of Hon High Chief Ezenyili Kelvin Obi PhD as Ikemba of Oko kingdom in recognition for his good deeds to the people of oko community.
Recall that he was in the last few months of his first tenure conferred the title of Ikemba of Ahaba kingdom by the Azagba of Asaba for his contributions to the growth of asaba and environs.
