Onyeme Declares Delta Safe for Investments

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has said that the state is safe and secured for investors to operate.

Onyeme gave the assurance in Asaba on Wednesday when the President of Zorah Technologies, Atlanta, Georgia, Mr Stephen McDavid and his team paid him a courtesy call.

According to him "Be rest assured that Delta State is a very peaceful state. 

"I started playing active politics in Delta State in 2015 and since that time till date, I have not seen or heard of any crisis in our state.

'The state is very very peaceful and as such, whatever business you bring here, you can go to sleep because  it will be  safe and secured.

"Those of us who resides in Delta will do all that we can to make sure that your investment is secured and profitable because if it is profitable  to you and your organisation, it will be profitable  to us."

The Deputy Governor stated that the state government was excited with the business proposal and encouraged the investors to expedite actions in ensuring that the Medical Test Kits manufacturing company is established in Delta State.

He said,  "as a state government, we are  very excited with the products you are proposing to bring to us; I want to thank you for that.

"We also know  that when you have manufacturing business, people  are going to be employed and probably some smaller businesses might spring up around your business as a result of the number  of people going and  coming out of there, and so it's a win win situation for us

"I want you to take this message  back home that you met with some of us in the government and we gave you 100 percent  assurance  to bring the business to Delta, we will  work together, we want people who will come and we will build  together, that is partnership."

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Investment, Mr Tony Amechi who introduced the team explained that the Medical Test Kits manufacturing company would be of great benefits to Deltans.

The President, Zorah Technologies, Mr Stephen McDavid, who is also a security expert, acknowledged that Delta State is among the states considered by the United States of America (USA) as secured for business.

He solicited for the Delta State government to collaborate with his organization to establish a Medical Test Kits manufacturing company in the state.

Present at the meeting were the commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr Sunny Ekedayen, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr Odinigwe Odigie Daniel, Deputy Chief of Staff, Sir Christopher Osakwe, Chief Shimite Bello, Chairman, Delta State Special Economic Zones (Koko/Kwale Free Trade Zones), Brig Gen Michael Ndubuisi (rtd), among others.
