Over 70 young people have been arrested over the weekend by security forces over Gay Wedding in North-East Nigeria.
"A 2014 law banned same-sex marriage in Nigeria, where it is punishable by 14 years in prison."
"The arrested youths included 59 men and 17 women. Intimidation of the LGBTQ community is rife in Nigeria and, in recent years, security forces have been carrying out raids on parties where they believe weddings are taking place."
"However, until now, none of these arrests have led to convictions."
