The National Association of Delta state Students (NADESSTU) has called on the Delta Governor-Elect, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to prioritize the downward review of school fees in the state to reduce the pain of parents and cut the alarming rate of school dropouts.

This was among the four point demands of the new NADESSTU National President, Comrade Wiska Monday while also assuring the incoming government of his unwavering collaboration and partnership towards ensuring good governance in the state.

Comrade Monday who stated this during a media session with the press in Asaba, also seized the opportunity to call on aggrieved persons to shield their swords and drop running litigations with a view of supporting the incoming government for the good of delta state.

He congratulated the newly constituted DESOPADEC board also prayed that the DESOPADEC scholarship scheme be expanded to accommodate students yearly in the oil producing regions of the state.

Speaking further Comr Monday stated that "we encourage the incoming governor to consider upward bursary and scholarship review within the state to mitigate the current economic situation of our dear country."

The NADESSTU President also urged the incoming state administration to avoid appointment of multiple aides to manage the students, "as the current division, infighting and crisis within the students community today, is largely caused by the multiple persons as Aide on students affairs".

"We therefore wish that the governor should appoint critical aide who is a former student leader that will be given the responsibility to coordinate the students community." He added.
