The Delta State commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu has said that, the state government did not pass a new law regarding benefits allotted to former governors of the state.

Aniagwu stated this on Tuesday while briefing journalists in Asaba.

According to the Commissioner, "We got that law in the time of Hon Sam Obi, we didn't add any dot or cross any T, that was a long time ago. Those saying it, know they are not saying the truth, we challenge them to say when the law was passed, who passed the law. They know the truth but they just want to tell stories that are not realistic."

In the same vein, Aniagwu also debunked the allegations that the state government had allegedly sold it's liaison office in Ikoyi, Lagos state.

He explained that, "we temporarily moved staffs for renovations that would be of social economic impact to deltans. If that is the case, how on earth will someone say we sold the laison property? That is why the people are yet to come up with a price tag to it. We are renovating it to house more flats and ten floors to enable us take advantage of that prime position and make money for the state government."

Speaking on Governor Okowa's unwavering commitment to working to the last hour, the commissioner recalled that "Our three nursing schools are now colleges and can now award certificates equivalent to HND level as they have now been upgraded. We have also commenced the school of medicine that will be serving the University of Agbor, we will be visiting the Beneku bridge to ascertain level of job done.

"We are doing this to get first hand information beyond what's on the handover note. We will continue and will not allow a lame dog period since we have a governor elect." He added.
