Asaba Killing: Nigeria Police Dismisses Inspector Ubi Ebri

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed one Inspector Ubi Ebri who shot and killed a young businessman in Asaba, Delta State.

The Delta State command announced this on Tuesday, 18th April, 2023.

According to the Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Bright Edafe, 

"INSPR Ubi Ebri has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police force and will be charged to court tomorrow Wednesday 19th April 2023. The court will be determined tomorrow."

Recall that on 5th April, 2023, one Mr Onyeka Ibe, a phone and accessories merchant and repairer in the popular Ogbe-Ogonogo market, was murdered in cold blood by the dismissed officer along Asaba-Ugbolu road in the presence of his wife.

A protest which broke out in the capital city, led to an immediate investigation; ordered by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Ali, who assured that no stones will be left unturned with a pledege that justice will be served.
