A prominent and longstanding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gabriel Ebube Nwajei, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Aniocha North State Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration, which took place on Friday at Issele-Azagba Ward 5, drew a significant gathering of party faithful, stakeholders, and supporters from across the constituency, including members from Issele-Mkpitime who turned out in solidarity to witness the event.
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, Nwajei said his decision to join the race was borne out of wide consultations and persistent calls from key stakeholders and grassroots supporters.
He assured constituents of purposeful and responsive representation, emphasizing his commitment to effective lawmaking and facilitation of developmental projects that would directly impact the lives of the people.
“This decision did not come lightly. It is the product of extensive consultations with leaders, youths, women, and elders across Aniocha North. The people have called, and I have answered,”
“My aspiration is anchored on service, integrity, and results. I am determined to provide quality representation by sponsoring people-oriented legislation and attracting meaningful development to every community in our constituency,” Nwajei added.
Highlighting his long-standing involvement in politics, Nwajei noted that his years of experience in the political space have adequately prepared him for the responsibilities ahead.
“Having been part of the political evolution of our area over the years, I understand the needs of our people. I will remain accessible, accountable, and committed to delivering on my mandate,” he assured.
The event also featured goodwill messages and endorsements from key party stakeholders, who described Nwajei as a dependable grassroots mobilizer and a consistent advocate for the development of Aniocha North.
Speaking at the event, APC Ward 5 former Chairman, Mr. Joseph Nwaisieme, commended Nwajei’s leadership qualities and dedication to the party.
“Gabriel Nwajei has remained steadfast and committed to the growth of our party at all levels. He is a credible aspirant with the capacity to represent our people effectively,” Nwaisieme said.
Similarly, former Vice Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Tobechukwu Ukwamedua, and former Councillor of Ward 5, Hon. Iyke Ijeh, described Nwajei as a bridge-builder and grassroots politician whose track record speaks for itself.
Youth President of Issele-Azagba, Prince Awele Mordi, also threw his weight behind the aspirant, noting that the youth constituency strongly believes in his vision and leadership.
“He has always been at the forefront of political development in Aniocha North. The youths are confident that he will carry everyone along and deliver dividends of democracy,” Mordi stated.
In a show of party unity and alignment, the stakeholders also used the occasion to pass a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, endorsing them for a second term in office in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration marks a significant step in the buildup to the 2027 polls, with Nwajei positioning himself as a strong contender committed to inclusive governance and grassroots development in Aniocha North.
