The Delta State Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the approval of several road projects in Isoko North and Isoko South Local Government Areas of the state.
Egbabor, a former Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, gave the commendation in a statement issued in Asaba on Friday, describing the approvals as a major step toward improving infrastructure and boosting socio-economic development in the Isoko nation.
He specifically praised the Delta State Executive Council for approving the construction and reconstruction of key roads across the two local government areas, noting that the projects would enhance connectivity, ease transportation challenges and stimulate economic activities in the affected communities.
According to him, among the projects approved by the state government are the construction of Emese Road in Urude community, Ozoro; the reconstruction of Otor-Igho Township Road in Otor-Igho; the construction of Godwin Ogorugba, Eduje and Matthew Enarube Streets in Otor-Igho; as well as the reconstruction of the Oteri–Igbide - Emede Road.
Egbabor said the projects would bring significant relief to residents who have for years grappled with poor road infrastructure, adding that the development reflects Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to equitable development across the state.
He noted that the governor’s administration has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to infrastructure renewal under its MORE Agenda, which prioritises meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms and enhanced peace and security.
The APC chieftain urged residents of the benefiting communities to support the state government and cooperate with contractors to ensure the smooth execution of the projects.
Egbabor further expressed optimism that the road projects, when completed, would open up the area for increased economic activities, improve access to markets and social services, and ultimately enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Isoko North and Isoko South.
