A new political movement, M.O.R.E. for Women, has emerged with a clear mission to deepen women’s participation in Nigerian politics while mobilising support for the Renewed Hope and M.O.R.E. Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group is committed to championing women’s inclusion in governance and supporting the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At the helm of the movement is Mrs. Ifeoma Rachael Akanigha, a respected advocate of good governance and women’s empowerment.
Mrs. Akanigha holds a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Benin and a Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) in Science Education from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba. A native of Ogbe-Onicha in Ogwashi-Uku, the headquarters of Aniocha South Local Government Area, she has emerged as a prominent voice in Delta State’s political space.
Mrs. Akanigha has consistently expressed strong support for the Tinubu administration, citing its focus on infrastructural development, economic revitalisation through the blue economy, education reforms, and renewed efforts to tackle insecurity.
Through M.O.R.E. for Women, she seeks to amplify women’s voices and ensure their active participation in shaping public policy and governance outcomes.
The group has also thrown its weight behind the re-election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, applauding his implementation of the M.O.R.E. Agenda, which has driven developmental projects across Delta State’s 25 local government areas.
According to the group, these reforms have strengthened the state’s revenue base, enhanced peace and security, and created new opportunities for economic growth.
Members of the Elegant Women in Politics movement believe that Governor Oborevwori’s second term will further accelerate development and expand opportunities for women to contribute meaningfully to governance.
Their endorsement, they say, reflects a firm belief in effective leadership and the transformative role women can play in advancing democracy and sustainable development in Nigeria.
