The Chairman, Nigeria Majority Leaders' Forum, Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly and Member representing Aniocha North Constituency, Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi Ph.D., has charged leaders and members of the People's Democratic Party, PDP to remain resolute in their commitment to the party, while also encouraging them to continue to render their loyalty and support to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
He made this assertion while addressing elected officers and appointees of Government under the Delta North extraction (Anioma) in a meeting at the Unity Hall of Government House, Asaba, Delta State.
Hon. Nwaobi affirmed that Delta State remains a PDP stronghold and would always win elections come rain and come shine, irrespective of those defecting.
In his submission, Hon. Nwaobi said whilst also adopting the submissions of previous speakers, that, "Come rain, come shine, PDP will always win Delta North and by extension the State. But it has to continue to come if we remained resolute.
"Nobody in Anioma is against the creation of Anioma State. There's a procedure in creating States; it's not as simple as they made it look. It is a rigorous process, and not even the President can unilaterally create a State.
Our people are vulnerable in believing anything, especially as it relates to the agitation for State creation. We will make the processes of State creation as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution available to our people on the social media space, in order to educate them properly.
"We must continue to support His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori to consistently drive his M.O.R.E Agenda for the State. We must not sit down and watch pundits take over the social media space on the basis of lies, we must attack every of these lies on the social media space with facts and truth. If you are for us, be with us; if you are against us, leave us. We will not take lightly disloyalty and disobedience, we have to device mechanisms to deal with those with us but against us.
"If by all records, Delta North remains the strength of PDP in the State, then we must guard that position jealously. We must continue to support our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and our immediate past Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the leader of Delta North.
"I must not conclude without suggesting the need for a rigorous empowerment of our people. We must encourage strategic and consistent empowerment in order not to allow the opposition political parties entice them with their own deceitful empowerment. We must not abdicate our responsibility to our people and then give room to opposition to manipulate them.
"Once again, I appreciate and commend the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Sir Monday Onyeme, for putting together this very timely and august meeting. This kind of meeting should be encouraged to hold regularly, for evaluation and appraisal of our performances and projections going forward", Nwaobi posited.
In a nutshell, the forum of elected and appointed officers of the State under PDP, passed a vote of implicit confidence on the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; thereby urging him to continue with his developmental strides across Delta.
