The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has appointed Desmond T. Orisewezie Esq. a Patrician, along with several others, to the NBA Lawyers in Diaspora Forum.
Mr. Orisewezie, a Lagos-based lawyer who recently returned from the United Kingdom after earning a Master’s degree in International Law and gaining experience with a UK Government Department, is expected to leverage his international network, alongside those of his fellow appointees, to establish a robust platform for Nigerian lawyers practicing or residing abroad.
The forum will facilitate professional connections and contribute to legal development in Nigeria.
The NBA Diaspora Forum will focus on key areas such as professional development, policy engagement, and support for diaspora lawyers.
It will also collaborate with the NBA to address challenges faced by Nigerian lawyers seeking qualification in foreign jurisdictions, enhance legal education and practice in Nigeria, and strengthen Nigeria’s engagement with the global legal community.
