Itsekiri Nation PDP Pass Vote Of Confidence In Gov Oborevwori

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Itsekiri ethnic nationality have passed a vote of confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and pledged their total support to him beyond 2027.

The vote of confidence and endorsement of the Governor was done when PDP members of Itsekiri extraction visited Governor Oborevwori at his Osubi residence in Okpe Local Government Area, on Sunday.

Moving the motion for the vote of confidence and endorsement, the member representing Warri South Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Augustine Uroye, said the vote of confidence was based on the Governor's excellent performance in human capital development and infrastructural transformation taking place across the twenty five Local Government Areas of the state.

Hon Uroye emphasized that the people of itsekiri Nation would support the governor beyond 2027 and urged him not to relent in advancing his MORE Agenda.

The motion was seconded by a former lawmaker, Hon Misan Ukubeyinje, before it was put to a voice vote by the member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Hon Thomas Ereyitomi, and it was unanimously adopted.

Speaking after the endorsement and vote of confidence, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori thanked them for the bold step, pointing out that it would spur him to do more for Deltans through his MORE Agenda.

Governor Oborevwori also commended members of the PDP in Ethiope Federal Constituency and Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency who recently passed votes of confidence on him, affirming that no part of the state would be left out in the scheme of things.

He said: "I have a very good relationship with the itsekiri ethnic nationality. In Warri, where I grew up, they know me. Most of the people that came here today, they are the people we all started life together; so, it's not today.

"They believe in my capacity and for them to endorse me today is not strange to me because they know what I can do. They know my capacity and they know I will not disappoint them."

The meeting was attended by the state chairman of the PDP, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, and all elected and political appointees from the Itsekiri nation.
