Media Wars in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and the Man in the Shadows

Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency representative seat, an office meant to project, defend, analyze, eternalize but not limited to the aforementioned has seen had many people take that saddle over the years.

Currently in view is the 2023-2027 first term of Hon Ngozi Okolie from Labour Party which is just about 18 months at press time and has been an agenda of discuss in a couple of weeks, one that came with a truck load of criticisms taking advantage of the Agenda Setting Theory and its ability to shape the perception of anyone not minding the oddity of the issue.

These people in the Shadows haven noticed they had little or no facts went on to showcase how much more they lacked facts and unwillingness to look the truth head on and wait for next elections if perhaps they may stand a chance.

Collins dictionary defines living in the Shadows as "If you live in the shadow of someone or in their shadow, their achievements and abilities are so great that you are not noticed or valued." www.collinsdictionary.com.

Could it be that these critics are living in the shadow of Hon Ngozi Okolie, a first timer at the national assembly and whom has revealed that his 18 months in office has surpassed that of anyone at their first 18 months that has ever represented the good great people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives?

"I think in my 18 months, I have done much more than everybody has done in their first tenure of 4 years."

In a luncheon on Saturday January 11, 2024, with journalist at his Asaba residence, the State Capital, he contended that success, rather than being universally celebrated, often provokes hostility from those who perceive it as a threat to their standing or ambitions.

"I apparently don’t think that if you do your job, a job that the people elected you to go and do, that you start using it to campaign or start telling people about it."

"So, I just do my own and quietly walk away, but it looks like we have been keeping too much quiet and the need for people to know that we are doing a really good job, from training people to student grants of a hundred thousand Naira to 300 students which didn't run across political lines but through the Students union governments."

Rt. Hon. Ngozi Okolie at this point revealed that has his success story in the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly, is no doubt a threat to his political detractors.

"And so, obviously, it's coming from people who are threatened by our success

That's the only way I can put it because if there were no threats, they wouldn't bother to be running helter Skelter."

"So I think it's even encouraging that people are talking, that means we are now being visible, they are now seeing the things we are doing."

"So if they say that we are claiming people's projects, I thank them. So they should go to the people who we are claiming their projects to come and see people who are claiming their projects."

"But I think that is sickening that they just want to have something to say, everybody knows that I'll be the last person to do such, "I've been in government before, when I was in DLA, I did a lot of things. I didn't even think about it and people were singing my praises."

"So I don't think that it's now that I'll now do one or two things, things that are even obvious that I would personally start singing about it"

In essence what they are saying is that "I'm telling people to donate their property or something, like how can you come to this house and say, Ah, please let me borrow it and show as my constituency project, after you take your house back."

So I think it's coming from their level of knowledge or ignorance. But I pray that this won't go too far. Because all this while we have been saying that we should let sleeping dogs lie while these persons go about saying things that will raise a lot of questions."

It leaves us with one question: Who is/are the Persons in the Shadows?

The Track will be bringing more to your doorstep as matters unfold.
