Just In: Petrol Smuggling Lingers Despite Subsidy Removal

Petroluem products even after removal of fuel subsidies, Nigeria's petrol appears to remain 58% cheaper than in neighboring countries and has allegedly driven smuggling activities.

Nairaland Pulse News reports that "Smugglers exploit porous borders and other methods to profit from the price disparity, with a single truck earning up to ₦17 million abroad."

Customs officials have seized over 650,000 liters and shut 17 outlets involved in illegal activities.
