The conference which will hold at the Urhobo House, Uvwiamuge-Agbarho will feature presentations from renowned academics and leaders from the various Kingdoms that make up the Urhobo Nation.
In a press release signed by the Chairman Organising Committee, Chief Emma. Avworo, he stated that the two-day Conference will have Prof. Andrew Onoaware Edevbie, of Wayne County Community College, Detroit Michigan, USA as the keynote Speaker and Prof. Rose Aziza of Delta State University, Abraka presenting the Lead Paper.
The theme of the conference is 'Rethinking Urhobo Origins, and Migrations, Cuisines and Marriage Rites'.
It is expected that the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori will be the Special Guest of Honour, while the President-General of UPU Worldwide Chief Barr. Ese Gam Owe will Chair the opening Ceremony and Prof. Hope Eghagha, President URS will be the Chief Host.
Also expected to grace the Occasion are the Traditional Rulers of the 24 Urhobo Kingdoms and their President-Generals of all the Kingdoms and other Urhobo Clubs and Associations.
He further advised sons and daughters of Urhobo to endeavour to attend and contribute to the authentication of the narratives of Urhobo Origins and Migrations, by Registering to attend, posting presentations and supporting the conference.
