A statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Isaiah Ogunye, said the suspension was sequel to a meeting held with all revenue agents and revenue officer of the council.
The statement read: Sequel to a meeting held by the Council Chairman, Revenue Agents and the Revenue Officer of the Council, the Chairman, Hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba has directed that all REVENUE COLLECTIONS within the local government be suspended immediately till further notice.
"In due course, the council will advertise for Agents to which the job would be awarded.
"Therefore, any revenue collector out there does not have the authority of the council and should be considered a criminal.
"Those who wish to pay, should hold on till a new agent is announced."
