In a statement that he signed, Mr. Soneye said there is no such planned increase.
Mr. Soneye urged Nigerians to disregard the rumour, describing it as unfounded.
"Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying as there is presently ample availability of petrol across the country."
