In a statement jointly signed by the State Council Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe and the State Secretary, Comrade Victor Sorokwu, Delta NUJ specially thanked Governor Oborevwori for his keen interest in profiling and bringing thoroughbred, homegrown journalists into his administration.
Delta NUJ described Comrade Norbert Chiazor, a one-time Chairman of the NUJ Delta State Council, as a visionary and capacious union leader, a cerebral and distinguished professional, a quintessential journalist, skillful writer and social media influencer.
The Union urged Comrade Chiazor to bring his best attributes to bear on his new role in government and feel free to fall back on the NUJ Delta State Council as a bolster to his assignment, no matter how challenging.
The newly elected NUJ leadership in the State is particularly impressed by the neutrality and unbiased disposition of the Delta State Governor in the just concluded Delta NUJ election and government's resolve to work with whoever emerged from the Council Election.
We therefore pledge to accord the Sheriff Oborevwori administration the Council's support in the realisation of the MORE Agenda for Delta State.
