Delta State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has disclosed that governor Sheriff Oborevwori's Administration will work with professionals.

The Deputy Governor gave this assurance today in Asaba when the Chairman and members of Institute of Chartered Accountant (ICAN), Asaba District, paid him a courtesy visit.

He assured the professionals of government's readiness and collaboration in sharing positive ideas and suggestions towards the growth and development of the state.

The Deputy Governor who noted that government is about service to humanity posited that "When good people that are knowledgeable, sincere and hard working are in government, the government becomes better and better."

Speaking further, Onyeme expressed that members of ICAN as professionals are qualified to hold any political position and hinted on need for knowledgeable people and professionals to go into politics rather than shying away from it.

While saying that accounting is a noble profession, the Deputy Governor commended the Executive of ICAN for keeping the profession high and promised to continually identify with the Institute.

"I am delighted to see my professional colleagues; my joy is that most of you were my students who are now Chattered Accountants.

"We thank God for a day like this; it is the joy and pride of every parent to see their children outshine them, so, I am happy that my students are now Chattered Accountants.

"Nothing will delight a professional more than being in the midst of his colleagues; I will be attending your programmes now that I am in Asaba," the Deputy Governor asserted.

Earlier in their various remarks, Deacon Daniel Odeh, FCA, outgoing Chairman, ICAN, Asaba District Society and Mrs. Agaunoke Mary, Chairman-elect, said the professional body came to felicitate with the Deputy Governor on his assumption of office.

The courtesy visit was witnessed by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Christopher Osakwe and the State Accountant General (A-G), Mrs. Joy Ewan.
